This Just In - R35 GTR next to R34. R35 is GINORMOUS

Take a look at some of these pictures over at socalevo depicting an R35 parked right behind an R34. I don't know if my eyes deceive me, but the new Godzilla is outright massive - wider stance, longer wheel base. The 3800lb quoted curb weight doesn't seem so bad considering its size.

Now, once you do a double take on that image and your brain starts to tell you its an optical illusion, realize that the R34 is CLOSER, and should appear larger than the R35 behind it - yet its absolutely dwarfed by its newer sibling.

There's also a bazillion new GTR images on that thread.

I'm announcing a caption contest for the pic on the left. Post your suggestions in the comments area.

Evo X - On the Streets, In Your Garages

After the long wait, the highly anticipated Evo X has already hit local showrooms (at least here on the west coast).

Evo X Dyno Numbers Are In

The good people at vivid racing are among the first to get the Evo X (which, btw, just hit our shores) onto the dyno. The preliminary numbers? 232hp/256 ft/lbs of torque. This was done on a Mustang dyno which reads a little lower than your average Dynojet. In a nutshell, the numbers are slightly higher than those of the previous Evo IX, but keep in mind this new motor has a few hundred pounds more Evo to haul around.

Mugen Civic Type RR Sedan

Your eyes aren't deceiving you - that's two Rs. One R simply isn't enough to delineate Mugen's new track terror. In addition to the upgraded brakes/tires and the entire carbon front clip, this Civic's K20A mill has been stroked out to nearly 2.2 liters (2157cc to be exact) for a more tractable powerband. This effectively translates to 260hp/173 ft/lbs of torque. Pricing has not been announced just yet, but one can assume it will be the most anyone's ever paid for a Civic.

Best Motoring Nissan GTR Video Review!

Not one to dilly-dally, those crazy track monkeys at BMI (Best Motoring International) have managed to get some intimate track time with a production Nissan GTR. Three part video courtesy of youtube.

Nissan R35 GTR Makes over 500hp with Just an Exhaust

SocalEvo user Boosted posts scans of what appears to be one of the aftermarket's first attempts at wrangling some additional fortitude from that Japanese supercar that can.

After fitting on a prototype catback exhaust, the GTR registered over 500hp at the hubs - measured on a dynapack. The decrease in backpressure increased boost almost 1.5psi and as a result netted an additional 22hp over stock - not a bad indicator that Nissan has indeed left some ponies on the table.

Nissan R35 GTR Crashed Already

Well THAT didn't take long. Autoblog has pictures of what appears the be the first totaled (or at least near-totaled) production Nissan GTR. We wonder how the insurance adjuster will deal with this considering replacement parts may not be available just yet.
